On 14th August, the DCET North America Alumni Association held its inaugural dinner meeting for alumni residing in the Great Houston area, Texas, USA. This event served as a platform for networking, reconnecting, and sharing experiences among alumni living overseas. The meeting included discussions about the association's future initiatives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining connections with the alma mater.

In September, the university announced the launch of the newly registered DCET Alumni Association in Chandigarh. This initiative is designed to ensure a closer connection between alumni and the department, with the Chairperson, Dr. SSBUICET serving as the President. The newly established DCET North American Alumni Association, which focuses on overseas alumni, is expected to enhance collaborative efforts and foster a sense of unity among graduates worldwide. This global expansion aims to bring alumni closer to their alma mater, encouraging participation and insights that will help shape the future of the community. Another notable aspect of the alumni interactions was a special session featuring distinguished alumni Aarthik Patel, a Senior Consultant in PwC, from the Class of 2019, and Minto Shelley, a Consultant in S&P Global, from the Class of 2018. They shared their remarkable journeys, recounted the challenges they faced in their early careers and the strategies they employed to overcome obstacles.

the DCET North America Alumni Association held a dinner meeting for alumni residing in the Greater Houston area, showcasing the organization's commitment to strengthening connections among its members. Under the leadership of Mr. Ravi Goel, President of the Association, the gathering attracted 12 alumni, some accompanied by their spouses. Unfortunately, five additional alumni were unable to attend due to adverse weather conditions or prior commitments. The evening featured a keynote address by Mr. Alok Jain, a distinguished member of the 1966 batch, who outlined the mission and objectives of the DCET North America Alumni Association. He articulated a strategic plan designed to elevate DCET to a premier institution in India, emphasizing the importance of a diversified funding model. This model aims for a balanced distribution of resources among government support, industry partnerships, and alumni contributions, ensuring a sustainable financial future for the institution.

Mr. Goel highlighted the Association's commitment to outreach, announcing plans to connect with all alumni based in the United States and Canada. He shared details about a forthcoming general North America Alumni Meet, tentatively scheduled for 2025 in Houston. Notably, invitations will be extended to the Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, the Chairperson of DCET, and other dignitaries from prominent universities across the United States, underscoring the event's significance. The response to Mr. Jain's presentation was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting a shared recognition among alumni of the necessity for DCET to adopt successful models employed by numerous universities in the United States, as well as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The evening concluded with a delightful dinner, complemented by music and opportunities for networking and socializing. The gathering fostered a sense of excitement and anticipation for the future, as alumni expressed their eagerness to participate in the upcoming North America Alumni Meet in 2025. This meeting marked a significant milestone in the Association's efforts to engage alumni and create a vibrant community that supports DCET's growth. As plans progress, the alumni community looks forward to strengthening ties and working together to propel DCET to new heights in the coming years.
