Fueled with ardor and aimed at producing the most well-equipped engineers of tomorrow, we integrate the vision of the future into today's academia and stride on a path brightened with the luminescence of the pearls of wisdom from the past. Established in 1958, the splendour of Dr. S.S.B. University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (earlier known as Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology, DCET) stands tall, precisely at the heart of the main campus of Panjab University.

The Dr. Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (formerly known as DCET) was set up in collaboration with the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA, and Panjab University.
One of the premier institutes in the country, Dr. S.S.B. UICET, has been achieving milestones in the field of chemical engineering and research and has earned a name for imparting quality technical education for the last 60 years.
The Dr. Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (formerly known as DCET) was set up in collaboration with the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA, and Panjab University.
One of the premier institutes in the country, Dr. SSB UICET, has been achieving milestones in the field of chemical engineering and research and has earned a name for imparting quality technical education for the last 60 years.
Initially headed by Prof. R.E. Peck of IIT Chicago, the institute has a sprawling campus that comprises state-of-the-art equipment with an eminently distinguished and highly qualified faculty, the institute has maintained global standards of excellence over the years.

To develop human resources in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, and allied areas to cater to the requirements of industry, academics, and R &D organizations, both at national and international levels, by providing value-based, high quality technical education. To provide students with technical, research, and personality development skills by providing a competitive and stimulating academic environment, as well as raising awareness about the needs and requirements of society and industry by revising and reorienting courses and curriculum on a regular basis.
